Save the date: free flow festival 2026

Das free flow festival ist zurück! Vier Tage voller Musik, Interaktion und Begegnungen. Im Provitreff in Zürich, auf den Strassen und an anderen überraschenden Orten. Sorgfältig kuratierte, neue und inspirierende Musikprojekte mit einer Vielzahl von Künstler*innen und Perspektiven. 

Das kuratorische Motto: dem nachgehen, was Künstler*innen für relevant halten. Das Ziel: Projekte zu starten, fortzusetzen und zu testen, die hoffentlich eine lange Reise in der nationalen und internationalen Kunst- und Musikszene vor sich haben.

Save the date! 3. free flow festival vom 4. - 7. Juni 2026
 
Nach den beiden ersten Ausgaben 2022 und 2024 feiern wir dieses Jahr die dritte Ausgabe des free flow festivals. Das Festival findet vom 4.–7. Juni 2026 statt: Das Provitreff verwandelt sich wieder in unser Festivalzentrum, daneben werden viele weitere Orte bespielt.

Wir stellen Fragen und geben Raum für Antworten: Was liebe ich im Moment am meisten? Welche Themen wollte ich schon immer in meiner künstlerischen Praxis erforschen? Mit wem kann ich meine Vision verwirklichen? Diese und andere Fragen begleiten die Künstler*innen während der Entstehung der dritten Ausgabe des free flow festivals. guerillaclassics begleitet die Entstehung neuer Rahmenbedingungen und bietet den Raum, diese immer wieder neu zu definieren.

Seit Monaten tüfteln wir mit sieben Kurator*innen und Kollektiven am Programm für das diesjährige free flow festival 2026. Zwischen Klang, Performance, Ritual und Installation entstehen Formate, die Begegnung, kollektive Prozesse und neue Perspektiven erfahrbar machen. Hier ein erster Einblick:

Ritual Singers by Asia Ahmetjanova 
Ein für alle offenes, komponiertes Singen lädt dazu ein, gemeinsam Klang entstehen zu lassen und kollektive Energie zu erleben.

Wimmelbild by Florian Kolb
Ein Abend wie ein lebendiges Wimmelbild: alle Künstler*innen des Festivals treffen sich zu spontanen Mini-Performances, Improvisationen und unerwarteten Begegnungen. Das Publikum bewegt sich durch ein pulsierendes Netzwerk aus Klang, Ideen und Überraschungen.
4. Juni - Provitreff

Antiguas Sonoras by la_cápsula
Kleine Keramikfiguren aus Mexiko werden zu Trägern von Klang, Erinnerung und Beziehungen zwischen Mensch, Natur und Kosmos. Workshop und Ausstellung eröffnen einen sinnlichen Raum, in dem Geschichte, Rituale und ökologische Zyklen hörbar werden.

Hyper Secretion by Flurina Zehnder
Barbies, Videos und fragile Live-Sounds treffen auf eine radikale Frage: Wie sehen unsere Körper wirklich aus – jenseits perfekter Bilder? Eine Performance über Ekel, Gewalt und Solidarität mit unseren realen Körpern.

Transcending Legacies by tracy september
Eine Residency als musikalisches Ritual des Erinnerns: Künstler*innen kommen zusammen, um das Vermächtnis der legendären taarab-Sängerin Bi Kidude neu zu befragen. Improvisation, Stimmen und Geschichten verbinden Generationen und künstlerische Welten.

∞ Infinity Loops ∞ by Severin Kolb
Loops, Phasenverschiebung und Beats: Ein Konzert zwischen Minimal Music und Hip-Hop zeigt, wie sich Wiederholung in hypnotische Klangwelten verwandelt. Violinist Dmitry Smirnov begegnet den Rhythmen des DJs Sebb Bash – ein Dialog zwischen Konzertsaal und Clubkultur.
6. Juni - Baby Angel

Liquid Geographies by Hasan Hujairi
Was wäre, wenn Zürich plötzlich ein Hafen wäre? „Liquid Geographies“ bringt den Geist von Hafenstädten ins Festival – mit fliessenden Improvisationen, musikalischen Strömungen und einer Performance der Oud-Virtuosin Amal Waqar.

Reflecting the Streets of New Orleans

guerillaclassics startet eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Lucerne Festival vom 24. – 30. August 2026. Eines der Projekte mit dem Titel «Reflecting the Streets of New Orleans» entsteht aus der Zusammenarbeit von Dr. Doreen Ketchens, Simone Keller und Jessie Cox, gemeinsam mit Musiker*innen der Lucerne Festival Academy. Kuratiert wird das Projekt von Hiromi Gut. Weitere Details zum gesamten Programm, inklusive Beiträgen weiterer grossartiger Künstler*innen wie tracy september, Severin Kolb, Andres Bosshard und vielen mehr, folgen in Kürze.

The free flow festival is back! Four days full of music, interaction, and encounters. At Provitreff in Zurich, on the streets, and at other surprising locations. Carefully curated, new, and inspiring music projects with a variety of artists and perspectives. 

The curatorial motto: pursuing what artists consider relevant. The goal: to start, continue, and test projects that will hopefully have a long journey ahead of them in the national and international art and music scene.

Save the date! 3rd free flow festival from June 4–7, 2026
 
Following the first two editions in 2022 and 2024, we are celebrating the third edition of the free flow festival this year. The festival will take place from June 4–7, 2026: Provitreff will once again be transformed into our festival center, with many other venues also hosting events.

We ask questions and provide space for answers: What do I love most at the moment? Which topics have I always wanted to explore in my artistic practice? With whom can I realize my vision? These and other questions accompany the artists during the creation of the third edition of the free flow festival. guerillaclassics accompanies the emergence of new framework conditions and offers the space to redefine them again and again.

For months, we have been working with seven curators and collectives on the program for this year's free flow festival 2026. Between sound, performance, ritual, and installation, formats are emerging that make encounters, collective processes, and new perspectives tangible. Here is a first glimpse:

Ritual Singers by Asia Ahmetjanova 
Open to all, this composed singing invites participants to create sound together and experience collective energy.

Wimmelbild by Florian Kolb
An evening like a living hidden object picture: all artists from the festival meet for spontaneous mini-performances, improvisations, and unexpected encounters. The audience moves through a pulsating network of sound, ideas, and surprises.

Antiguas Sonoras by la_cápsula
Small ceramic figures from Mexico become carriers of sound, memory, and relationships between humans, nature, and the cosmos. A workshop and exhibition open up a sensory space in which history, rituals, and ecological cycles become audible.

A residency as a musical ritual of remembrance: artists come together to reexamine the legacy of legendary taarab singer Bi Kidude. Improvisation, voices, and stories connect generations and artistic worlds.

Liquid Geographies by Hasan Hujairi
What if Zurich suddenly became a port city? Liquid Geographies brings the spirit of port cities to the festival – with flowing improvisations, musical currents, and a performance by oud virtuoso Amal Waqar.

Reflecting the Streets of New Orleans

guerillaclassics is launching a collaboration with the Lucerne Festival from August 24 to 30, 2026. One of the projects, entitled “Reflecting the Streets of New Orleans,” is the result of a collaboration between Dr. Doreen Ketchens, Simone Keller, and Jessie Cox, together with musicians from the Lucerne Festival Academy. The project is curated by Hiromi Gut. Further details on the entire program, including contributions from other great artists such as tracy september, Severin Kolb, Andres Bosshard, and many more, will follow shortly.
