Altes hinterfragen, Neues wagen

WHAT'S NEW?

Think, Care, Act!

6. Oktober: Sandro Meszaros (Cello), Beatriz Lopez Paz (Viola da Gamba), Simon Fluri (Saxophon)
13. Oktober: Sofia Goetz (Geige), Sophia Tankosic (Geige), Maura Rickenbach (Cello), Anne Sophie van Riel (Viola), Riccardo Acciarino (Klarinette)
25. Oktober: Sofia Goetz (Geige), Andrea Cavalazzi (Cello), Riccardo Acciarino (Klarinette)

Jeweils von 12.15-12.45 Uhr beim Amphitheater der Universität Zürich Irchel, 8057 Zürich

Bei Schlechtwetter werden die Konzerte verschoben.

free flow festival 2022 – the clip

So many great moments, so little time...
To be continued? Ganz bestimmt!

The Uninterrupted Song for the City goes Lubumbashi

Wann: 6. Oktober

Wo: Biennale Lubumbashi, Demokratische Republik Kongo

WHAT'S NEW?

Think, Care, Act!

Transformation does not only mean change, but also reshaping and questioning existing ways of thinking and structures. How can we rethink the association, how can we make guerillaclassics fit for the future? Towards the end of the transformation process, we again brought external support on board to explore these questions. With their input and ideas, tracy september, Brandy Butler and Kay Zhang opened up completely new perspectives and gave us important food for thought. The creation and implementation of a care concept will be part of this transformation.
We will present the further results of the collaboration to you shortly.

Lunchbreak concerts reloaded

Open-air concerts in October? That's right! After a successful start last autumn, we are once again turning the amphitheatre around the picturesque pond on the campus of the Irchel University into a stage. With the help of the Institute of Musicology, we are organising three lunchtime concerts to sweeten the study breaks between lectures.
Curated by clarinettist Riccardo Acciarino, the repertoire of the three ensembles ranges from Basso Continuo with electronic influences, to the Cello Suite No. 1 in G major by J. S. Bach, to Brahms and Hungarian folk tunes by Kovacs.

6 October: Sandro Meszaros (cello), Beatriz Lopez Paz (viola da gamba), Simon Flurry (saxophone)
13 October: Sofia Goetz (violin), Sophia Tankosic (violin), Maura Rickenbach (violin), Anne Sophie von Riel (viola), Riccardo Acciarino (clarinet)
25 October: Sofia Goetz (violin), Andrea Cavalazzi (cello), Riccardo Acciarino (clarinet)

From 12.15-12.45 pm at the amphitheatre at Irchel University, 8057 Zürich

In case of bad weather, the concerts will be postponed.

free flow festival 2022 – the clip

Four festival days in 194 seconds – completing the clip for the free flow festival 2022 was anything but easy. So many great moments, so little time...
The festival was born out of the idea to let creativity flow freely for the fifth anniversary of guerillaclassics. In spring, we called on the almost 300 artists who have performed at guerillaclassics over the last five years to initiate new collaborations. This resulted in around 15 projects that were shown as part of the free flow festival.
We look back on this intensive period with joy, pride and a little melancholy, on inspiring brainstorming sessions and rehearsals at all hours of the day and night, on the magnificent blue festival posters that shone from the advertising pillars all over Zurich, on countless surprising concert experiences and exciting new encounters.
To be continued? For sure!

The Uninterrupted Song for the City goes Lubumbashi

At the free flow festival, Sinzo Aanza's installation "The Uninterrupted Song for the City" celebrated its premiere three months later, the sound archives from Congo will be heard for the first time in Congo itself, at the Lubumbashi Biennale, together with the sound recordings of the live performance by Huguette Tolinga and Vincent Glanzmann. Just as in Zurich at the free flow festival, a local musician will accompany the sound archives recomposed by an AI: Vicko Tengwa, the former guitarist of Papa Wemba. This performance will also be recorded and will be further developed with other musicians.
So the project is far from over, but has just begun...

The Uninterrupted Song for the City is a collaborative work between Sinzo Aanza (creation & installation), Vincent Glanzmann (percussion), Hiromi Gut (co-creation), Vladimir Petrov (AI) and Huguette Tolinga (percussion).

When: 6 October
Where: Biennal Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Kongo
